Google Plus is the awesome new social network built by Google to directly compete with Facebook. Google+ has so many great features like Hangouts, Circles, Google+ Pages, Games, etc. It is a great place to relax with friends and acquintances.
But one very good feature that Google+ lacks is the ability to create a short custom vanity url for your Google+ Profile, which other social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin has. Google instead uses a very long list of random numbers, example 103029867612431919230. This has pissed so many off due to the awfully long url the now have to remember. If you one of those that are looking for a way to create a short vanity url for Google+, there is now way to do it using GPlus.to
Gplus.to is a an awesome web app that allows you to create a custom short url for an individual google+ profile or google+ business page.
Steps to Creating a Custom Short Vanity Url For Google+ Profile Using GPlus.to
Step 1: Get your Google+ Profile ID. To get this, goto Google+, click on your profile picture. Copy only the number stringin the url in your browser address bar, that’s your Google+ profile ID, and that’s what we will be using.
Step 2: Goto GPlus.to. Enter your Preferred short url in the nickname field and then enter your Google+ profile ID in the other box. Click on ‘Add’.
Step 3: Your custom vanity short link will now be created. Example 103029867612431919230 will now be converted to gplus.to/Oegbule. You can now share this short link easily with your friends and associates.
Some important things to note:
Your username could be 3 to 25 characters,
Your username should not contain special characters,
You can create a nick for individual Google+ account.
Only Latin characters and numbers are allowed.

It’s a nice post but I still wonder why it’s taking Google so long to come up with an official vanity URL system of theirs.
Google loves taking their time to do something. Maybe they are working on it.
I read somewher that Google does not want to implement vanity urls cos G+ accounts are tied in directly to their Gmail accounts. Some people might use their default gmail profile as the short link thereby exposing their email, and increasing spam.
